Demotion of Lawrence Greenfield from Bureau of Justice Statistics

Why do I not see any IN DEPTH review/reporting of this Administration's constant attempt to suppress information. Case in point, Lawrence Greenfield was demoted for refusing to remove references in a draft report, obtained by the NY Times, that stated higher rates of searches and use of force for Blacks and Hispanics by police were CROSSED OUT  by hand with a notation in the margins saying "Do we need this?".

OF COURSE WE NEED THIS INFORMATION, JACKASS!!!!

Just another case of the Bush administration creating it's on realty and then living in it. Did you know that this administration has curtailed the collection of information such as the above, for women in the area of fair wages and job employment, environmental reporting, how we count the poor, and of course we only see the 2000+ killed in Iraq, since the 20000+ injured is a bigger number (makes the war a little more pallatable). And we are still waiting on those video tapes of torture taken at Gitmo and Abu Ghuraib showing the rape of one little girl, and several boys by the contractors (that's right we have children in prison), not our soldiers, that now run the prison instead of our military running it. Absolutely disgusting. The contractors are actually wearing our soldier's uniforms when they are interrogating prisoners, thus implecating the military. By the way that is against the law impersonating a soldier (or police, or firefighter, or CIA, or FBI.....), and I'm going to go out on a limb and say especially during war time.

Bush snubbs NAACP AGAIN

Bush calls it a scheduling conflict. How does the President of United States of America have scheduling conflicts. If the President wants to go somewhere, HE GOES.......PERIOD.

So obviously he did not WANT to go the NAACP convention, which invited him to speak. This is very disrespectful to the new NAACP President, Bruce S. Gordon. Bush is the first president since Warren Harding to show total disregard for the historic civil rights organization. Sorry Mr. Bush you don't get to decide what blacks you want to talk to and the ones you don't. We elect our African American leaders as our interface to government, whether held by republicans or democrats, and expect you to go through them when addressing us. The divide and conquer technique was used during slavery times, when darker skinned africans were separated from lighter skinned africans (children of the slave master and slave women) and the darker skinned african were placed in the fields, in the hot sun, farming cotton, sweet potatos, and peanuts, while the lighter skinned ones worked in the house, hence the term "house ni$$er", that develop during that time as well.

It's not a coincident that the Strom Thurmond's of that time ran to the Republican party of this time when the Democratics begin to make up for the mistakes it made in supporting policies that hindered the American dream of blacks. Yes, the Democrats WERE on the wrong side of civil rights for a long time, but they did CORRECT their mistakes eventually. And this myth that some how the republican party of today is the party of Lincoln in latter days is disingenuous, and disrespectful the memory of Lincoln.
