Advertisement

One of the most important aspects of selling and item, is to advertise it. Get your item out there, ppl can't buy if they don't know it exists. I guarantee there is always at least 1 person willing to by an item, but they either don't know about it, or cant afford it. The easiest advertising is the package sale, makes your shop much more noticeable. But the package sale is not always the best way if you're selling an expensive item where 2% is quite a lot.

-Server- What server will you set up shop in? Well c1, k1, and s1, tend to be the most crowded servers, where ppl go solely to purchase things. But on those servers, you have to compete with others selling the same item for a possibly lower price, is the flow of traffic worth that? Or you could go to a different server, chances are you'll have much less competition and will be able to sell your item for the price you want, but it will take longer. It all depends on how quickly you need the money.

-Forum Advertising-
The Barter Board is a perfect way to advertise. You simply post the name of your item, and if you want, a price, or you can ask people to leave offers. This is a good way to sell items, as you will be able to advertise to many people that may not be online when you are. However, many people don't use the forums and won't see your advertisement. So don't despair if no one replies to you.

-In game advertisement-
This may seem a bit obvious, but shouting out your item in game can help a lot. You simply open a shop and shout something like 'Wts level 45+10 scythe, pm with offers' repeatedly. Ppl will read your message and may buy your item.

-Friends- Ask everyone on your friends list, and in your guild if they want to buy your item, or know someone that does. It gives you at the most 80 more people trying to sell your item. And then if those ppl tell their guild and their friends to look for someone to sell your item, well you do the math. A whole lot more advertising.

Prices
This section is not really on what the prices of items are, although i will talk about that a little. It is mostly about trying to get the best price possible for buying and selling items.

-In Merchant Mode-
Selling- Offer a good price. If your trying to sell something for 4x the normal price, it doesn't matter how good your advertising is, no one will buy it. Just be patient, if your item doesn't sell the first night, there's always tomorrow. If it's been like a week and it still hasn't sold, research the item a bit. How many people would need it? Is your price fair?

Buying- If you finally find someone selling an item you need, but they're selling for an outrageous price, DONT BUY! Before you ever buy an item you should know how much its worth, otherwise you'll end up spending 800k on 1 heaven stone. Just be patient, there is more than one person who has the item you need.

-In Trade-(selling and buying)

1 tip that is very important, always haggle. If you see someone selling an effort scroll for 100k, tell them you'll buy it for 50k. They say, 80k, you say 60k, he says 70k, you say deal. And lookie here, you just got an effort scroll 30k off what it was selling before. You can do the same thing when you're selling the item. Ask the person what their offer is, you then suggest a higher price, and will come to a decision the same way you do when buying.

*CAUTION* This next tip isn't always helpful. I really love doing this, it's just so easy. If you see someone trying really hard to sell something you need, try to get it for a lower price. Lets say its selling for 12m, you offer 10m. He will then offer 11m, and you'll offer 10m again. He offers 10.5m, you will offer 10m again, keep doing this until he gives. The downside to this is sometimes the person isn't too desperate to sell, and end up really POed when you wont change your offer, and they just walk away (good method, just walk away) You will follow them if you really need the item, and end up paying full price for the item.

I will list a few prices of drops, his will not include armor, weapons, or quest items. It is also only the prices for caraie, not katar or sarissa.

Heaven stone- 420-550k
Moon Stones- 10-25k
Pan flutes- 5-30k
Drake Eggs- 5-30k
Tool Aids- 10- 25k
Item Drop booster- 40- 150k
Attack Pot- 10-60k
Defense Pot- 10-40k
Small hp recovery pot- 500gp -5k
Small mp recovery pot- 500gp- 3k
Haste potion- 200gp-1k
A regular accessory (prices are extremely high on these, not recommended to buy) 10k- 1.5m

Availability (rareness)
The rareness of an item, is how much of it there is. This will determine your prices. If there is a lot of an item, their will be a small demand for it. If their is very little of an item, their will be a large demand for it. Supply and demand, make sure you know the rareness of an item before selling/buying.
